For EFT Supervisors-in-Training

Attention Supervisors-in-Training!

… A few words about Learning to be an EFT Supervisor:

(See also the “EFT Supervision” page for learning about the model of EFT supervision and what is involved! And check out the EFT Certification tab for the key forms, etc., for that process for EFT Supervisors.)

If you are wanting to learn to be a Certified EFT Supervisor, I highly recommend that you participate in a “Level Up” group or some other form of Group Supervision of Supervision. It can be hard to walk into something if we don’t know what it looks like. Supervision of Supervision groups are often made up of at least 8 other Supervisors-in-Training like yourself and two supervisors. The groups typically meet for two hours once a month, and the group members rotate showing their videos of their supervision work and get valuable feedback. That also allows YOU to see concrete examples of really good supervision and get a sense of what is required for certification tapes. Plus, you get to build confidence in a safe environment filled with support, validation, and skillful suggestions. What could be better?!

Here are some great Supervision of Supervision Groups to consider using as a supplement your Individual Supervision Experience:

EFT SUPERVISION COURSE:

Additionally, it is so valuable as an EFT Supervisor (and Supervisor In Training) to have taken a course on supervision which is specifically focused on the EFT Model of Supervision (which involves ACES, HEARTS, and the Tango). Consider watching:

  • The Original 6 hour EFT Supervision course (taught by Lisa J. Palmer-Olsen, George Faller and Marlene Best)

  • The 2022 Supervision Reboot course (which if you go straight to this one, you can pay just $75 extra and get the original 6 hour course too). This Reboot features: Marlene Best, George Faller, Lisa Palmer-Olsen, Feion Villodas, Nalini Calamur, Nancy Brittain, Jay M. Seiff-Haron, James McCracken, Rachel Thomas, Suzanne Barron.

Now that Certified EFT Supervisors have more power to certify EFT Therapists, ICEEFT is being even more careful about who is certified as an EFT Supervisor. So, put on a Growth Mindset, realizing this will be a journey of life-long learning (not a short term destination). It is so worth it!!

Key Resources from ICEEFT for EFT Supervisors and EFT Supervisors-in-Training:

  • When you become a Supervisor-in-Training (SIT), you may cite your status in your email signature as: “Approved EFCT Supervisor Candidate” (And if you are also seeking to be an EFIT and/or EFFT Supervisor and you are certified as an EFT Therapist in those modalities, you may do this: “Approved EFT Supervisor Candidate (EFCT, EFIT, EFFT).”

  • If you are an ICEEFT member, this is a helpful link for ICEEFT’s information for EFT Supervision (including Supervisors, Supervisors-in-Training (SIT’s), getting certified as a supervisor, resources for supervisors/SIT’s, discounts for supervisors/SIT’s, free training opportunities, the free recordings (for a limited time), Supervisor/SIT listserv, and much more!).

  • The Supervisor Collaborative - is a monthly gathering of EFT supervisors from around the world, typically on a Thursday, 9am PT/ 12:00pm EST, for an hour. It is free, and provides a combination of training, updates, and connection from other supervisors who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of being an EFT Supervisor. You are not alone! Come join this gathering and feel the support! Sign up to join.
